NANGA PARBAT-TARASHING-RUPAL FACE TREK

Trek Itinerary:
Day 01: Islamabad
Arrive at Benazir Bhutto International airport Islamabad. Meet, assist & transfer to the hotel. AM at leisure. PM Islamabad city tour.
Our sightseeing tour will start from, Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian & National monument with a trip to Damn-e-Koh, to catch an eye bird view of the twin cities. Overnight at the hotel. (No meals).
Day 02: Islamabad – Chilas
After breakfast drive to Chilas.
Chilas was on the ancient caravan track over the Babusar Pass into India and on the Indus trail of Besham, and many rock engravings/impressions were left by travelers in this area. Chilas is standing under the shadow of world famous Killer Mountain Nanga Parbat. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).
After breakfast drive to Tarashing.
Drive by Willy jeeps and escort towards Astor valley. We leave the Karakuram Highway at Jaglot and turn left on to a jeep track ahead to Tarashing. The drive up to Tarashing is very thrilling as we travel along the Astor River all the way through the narrow valley. Arrive at Tarashing and camp for overnight. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 04: Tarashing – Latobah
After breakfast trek to Latobah.
Trek through mixed meadows and forest to the Brazhin glacier, cross the glacier to the green meadows fed by mountain streams. Walk around Nanga Parbat Lake and set up camp near a spring at Latobah 5-6 hours. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 05: Latobah – Shaigiri
After breakfast trek to Shaigiri. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 06: Shaigiri – Mazeno Base Camp
After breakfast trek to Mazeno Base Camp.
The trail go after the northern side moraine of the Toshain Glacier with views back to Leila and Rupal peaks on one side and Nanga Parbat on the other. The camp, in a green meadow at about 4,200 meters, with a sparkling stream and dried juniper bushes, looks down on Toshain Glacier, 20 – kilometers- long, two- kilometer -wide snake that fills the whole head of the valley. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 07: Mazeno Base Camp
After breakfast full day free at Base Camp to explore the area. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 08: Mazeno Base Camp – Shaigiri
After breakfast trek back to Shaigiri. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 09: Shaigiri – Rupal Village
After breakfast trek to Rupal Village.
Trek will take 5-6 hours throughout green fields with wild flowers, cross the Nanga Parbat river. Upon reaching the Tarashing glacier we must cross it, to reach the Rupal camp located on the opposite site. Overnight in tents. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner).
Day 10: Rupal Village – Tarashing – Karimabad
After breakfast descend to Tarashing and drive to Karimabad.
Karimabad is the delightful old capital of the Hunza Kingdom. From Karimabad, with its souvenir shop, post office and tea shop, you can obtain a magnificent view of the valley laid out below you and of the peaks behind. The Aliabad / Karimabad area is scattered with wild flowers and blossoming fruit orchards. We will spend half our day in these two towns enjoying the greenery and delighting in the sound of water falls. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).
Day 11: Karimabad
After breakfast full day city tour of Hunza including Baltit Fort & Hoper.
Baltit fort was the old palace of the Mirs of Hunza and was inhabited until 1960. Baltit is a curious rambling old place, four stories high, sturdily built of stones, sun – dried mud and timber. Baltit is built on a cliff edge; behind it is a ravine and then the Ultar glacier glinting in the sunshine. The architecture here reflects a Tibetan influence. The view from the top of the fort is well worth the climb. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).
Day 12: Karimabad – Gilgit
Breakfast at the hotel. AM. At leisure morning while exploring the area, afternoon we shall drive to Gilgit.
Upon arrival transfer to Hotel, and proceed for Gilgit Bazaar excursion, suspension bridge. Gilgit is the administrative center and economic hub of Gilgit/Baltistan. It lies in the heart of the Karakuram, at 1500metres, near the confluence of the Hunza and Gilgit Rivers. The bazaar is modernizing, from shacks to two storey cement shops, NLI Market with a selection of Pakistani, Chinese and European goods. Well worth taking home are Chinese silk, and saffron, worth its weight in gold! Gilgit is home to many freestyle polo teams, and if you are in town during a tournament you are in for an exciting afternoon of traditional music, non-stop play, free style polo match. Overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast only).
Day 13: Gilgit-Islamabad
After breakfast transfer to Gilgit airport for flight to Islamabad by PK-606 or PK-608 (Subject to weather flight). Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Islamabad. or PM at leisure in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. (Breakfast only).
(If flight cancels then, we will drive via Karakuram Highway to reach Islamabad on the way overnight stay in Besham). Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Next day drive to Islamabad. (Breakfast only).
NOTE:- Confirmation of flight to/from Gilgit is subject to weather on provisional bookings and confirmation of seat is expected one day before. Confirmation depends on previous backlog.
Day 14: Islamabad
Drive to Islamabad via Taxila. Overnight at the hotel. Or Proceed to Taxila for day excursion. Overnight stay at the hotel. (Breakfast only).
Day 15: Islamabad
Transfer to Benazir International airport Islamabad for your homebound flight. (Breakfast only).
